About
Jennifer Dunn Occupational Therapy is an occupational therapy practice based in Panorama and the deep south peninsula, in Cape Town.
Jennifer Dunn Occupational Therapy provides services in adult rehabilitation, including: geriatric care, lymphatics, cancer rehabilitation and hand rehabilitation. We provide both in hospital and outpatient services. 3 dynamic therapists form our team that is managed by our ever dependable admin wonder woman.
A passion for geriatric care, I arrived in Cape Town in 2015 to join the team in the South. After developing skills in Hands Therapy and Lymphatics, I was able to broaden my scope and became Lymphatic and Wound Care certified in 2016. Despite being based primarily in the north as of 2016, I have remained intimately involved and passionate about our practice in Noordhoek.

Meet Our Team
Jennifer Dunn obtained her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Cape Town in 2006. She specialised in Lymphatic therapy and Wound care and completed her lymphoedema and wound care certification in 2016 through Lymphatic Education Africa. Her passion is assisting patients in regaining function and self esteem through the sustainable reduction of swelling as well as pain management. Jen has received her trainers certification for certifying therapists. Jen completed the Fluorescence Guided Manual Lymph Drainage Certification in 2019. In early 2022, Jen was certified as a Cancer Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist.

Lymphatic Therapy
We understand how important it is to feel confident and worry free when it comes to living the life we want to live. Our dedicated staff invests the time and energy necessary to be well prepared for providing the care you need when coping with a lymphatic disruption or disorder. We offer manual lymph drainage, specialised bandaging techniques and carefully measured compression garments.
Oncology Rehabilitation
We have the experience and skills to tackle oncology rehabilitation. Often overlooked, we believe that oncology rehabilitation is an essential part of your cancer journey. Our therapists can help you maintain your range of motion pafter surgery and radiation; lymphatic therapy to prevent, improve and maintain any lymphatic involvement; energy conservation; pain management and cognitive rehabilitation. Relaxation therapy and breathe work are so important in the cancer journey, not only for mental well-being and support but also to aid in stretching and strengthening the physical body.
Home Assessments and Palliative care
Our therapists are well versed in the home preparations required for palliative or end of life care. We are able to manage basic wounds and support both the patient and family through the palliative process. As occupational therapists we are uniquely equipped to maximize function though joint protection, energy conservation and pain management techniques. We are also available to assess the home environment in order to make recommendations for levels of care required.
Geriatric Care
Our therapists have experience in working with the elderly in the community, nursing homes and retirement villages. We have a vision of creating awareness and understanding of senior behaviour within the senior community. Understanding where each person is coming from and why certain behaviours are displayed is essential. If an understanding can be created, we can move forward and apply programmes and approaches to suit the needs of every individual.
